Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actor who earned popularity for her part in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun and Beta Saajan. She started her career in the late 1980s, and rose to prominence with her performance in the movie Tezaab. In it, she played alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Next, she appeared with Aamir In Dil. She was born into a middle-class household in Mumbai she began learning to dance as a child. As a teenager She began to act but suffered through a number of years as the majority of her films at first were unsuccessful. She finally found success, and went on to become one of the most prominent actresses in the Indian film industry. The actress took a break from her career following her wedding, before returning into the entertainment business. She was a key character as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film which explores women's struggles within India. Dixit is nominated to win fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. The actress was also honored with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her fame is based on her work in the field of social service as well.
